Willow Skirt : Concept
Hilandel founder Hillary Anne O’Dell wanted to create a capsule of buy now, wear now pieces for her clients. The first of this collection: The Willow Skirt. The idea sparked from a few places:
For the busy bride who needs something special for her shower, rehearsal, after party.
For the lo-key bride who wants something festive yet versatile for her trip to city hall.
For the bridesmaids who’d like something they will actually wear again.
For the woman who wants a taste of a custom piece.
This timeless “tutu” is a versatile staple that can work in anyone’s wardrobe, regardless of their personal style or age. Hillary described this piece by saying “You will find skirts of this style dating back to 1832 when ballerina Marie Taglioni debuted the look, fashion has been in toe ever since. This is something I would have worn 10 years ago; it’s something I’ll be happy to have in my closet 10 years from now. I see women of all ages wearing this.” The Willow Skirt is effortlessly dressed up for a formal occasion, or paired down for a night out. However it is styled, it never fails to impress.
The Willow Skirt is created with our special “Made to Measure” process, this is a peak inside what custom pieces are all about. To start, you will select a color. Each piece has a unique tone created by overlapping a minimum of two different colors to create our custom hues. ( If you don’t see the color your craving, contact us and let’s chat!) Next, and most importantly, come the measurements. During the checkout process you will get instructions on how to take your measurements properly. If something looks off, we will reach out to confirm.
